Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the service.

availability of the service
- The application may contain bugs, errors, or inaccuracies that could affect functionality
- We are not responsible for any losses, damages, or consequences arising from your use of the application

- Accuracy of shift schedules, dates, times, or days off displayed in the application
- Availability or uninterrupted access to the service
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement of third-party rights

3. User Responsibilities
As a user of NeilsRota, you agree to:
- Verify All Information: Double-check all shift schedules, dates, times, and other
information displayed in the application before relying on them
- Regular Reviews: Periodically review your rota schedules to ensure they remain accurate
and up-to-date
- Independent Verification: Always verify important scheduling information through
official channels or with appropriate personnel
- Backup Your Data: Maintain independent records of your shift schedules and important
information
- Report Issues: While we make efforts to fix bugs, you should not rely solely on the
application for critical scheduling needs
4. Authentication and Cookies
NeilsRota uses Google OAuth for authentication. By using this service, you agree that:
- Google Authentication: You will sign in using your Google account
- Cookies: We store cookies and session data on your device, including:
- Google authentication cookies
- Passport.js session cookies for maintaining your login state
- Session identifiers required for the application to function
- Browser Storage: The application may use browser storage mechanisms to improve
functionality
- Third-Party Access: By signing in with Google, you acknowledge that Google's privacy
policies and terms apply to the authentication process
5. Analytics and Usage Data
We use Google Analytics to improve the application. This means:

6. Sharing Rotas - Important Warning
⚠️ Critical: Rota Sharing is Permanent
Once you share your rota, you CANNOT revoke access. Please understand:
- Permanent Access: Anyone with the shared link can view your complete rota schedule
indefinitely
- Future Updates: They will see all future changes, additions, and modifications to
your schedule
- No Revocation: There is currently no way to "unshare" or revoke access once a link
is shared
- Further Sharing: Recipients can share the link with others without your knowledge
or permission
- Schedule Visibility: The shared link shows your entire schedule, including all
shifts and days off
- Privacy Protected: Only shift schedules and holiday information are shared - your
name, email address, and other personal details are kept private to the best of our ability
What is shared:
- Your shift schedule (shift names, times, and dates)
- Days off and holidays you've marked
- The rota pattern and cycle
What is NOT shared:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your Google account information
- Any other personal identifying information
Before sharing your rota:
- Only share with people you completely trust
- Understand that the link could be forwarded to anyone
- Consider if you're comfortable with this information being permanently accessible
- Remember that you cannot delete or hide the shared calendar later
- Be aware that while we protect your personal information, your schedule itself will be visible
7. Advertisements
To support the ongoing operation and development of NeilsRota:
- We may introduce non-intrusive advertisements in the future
- These advertisements will help fund server costs, maintenance, and improvements
- We will strive to keep advertisements minimal and non-disruptive
- Advertisement partners may use cookies for ad personalization
- We reserve the right to modify advertising policies without notice
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- This includes, but is not limited to, missed shifts, scheduling conflicts, loss of income, or any other
damages resulting from use of the application
- We are not responsible for errors in scheduling, notification failures, or data loss
- We are not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from shared calendar links
- We are not liable for privacy breaches resulting from your decision to share your rota
- While we make reasonable efforts to keep personal information private in shared calendars, we cannot
guarantee absolute privacy
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the service (if any)
9. Known Issues and Bugs
You acknowledge that:
- Software bugs and errors may exist in the application
- Features may not work as expected or may be temporarily unavailable
- We may modify, update, or discontinue features without notice
- Updates may introduce new bugs or temporarily affect functionality
- Holiday/day off marking may contain errors or display incorrectly
10. Data and Privacy
By using NeilsRota, you understand that:
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- We use Google authentication for login purposes
- Your shift data is stored on our servers
- Shared calendar links provide permanent, irrevocable access to your schedule information only
- Personal information (name, email) is kept private to the best of our ability when calendars are shared
- You should not share calendar links with untrusted parties
- We are not responsible for how recipients use or further share your calendar links
- Session data and authentication tokens are stored in cookies
11. Service Modifications
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time
- Change these Terms and Conditions without prior notice
- Refuse service to anyone for any reason
- Delete accounts or data that violate these terms
- Introduce new features or remove existing ones
- Change hosting providers or server infrastructure

- Your decision to share your rota calendar with others
- Unauthorized access resulting from shared links you created

- NEVER share your rota link unless you trust the recipient completely and
permanently
- Once shared, calendar links cannot be revoked or deleted
- Shared calendars show all future updates to your schedule
- Only schedule data is shared - personal information is kept private to the best of our ability
